Optomap® Retinal Exams
Wider View, Better Diagnoses, Less Discomfort
Lifetime Vision was the first facility in Grand Forks to provide ultra-wide digital imaging, or optomap® , of the retina, which is something no other device can do in a single image or without dilation.
- Ultra-wide field view of the retina
- Non-invasive, comfortable & quick
- Provides permanent records for future comparisons
- You can resume normal activities immediately
An optomap retinal exam gives our doctors a broader view (200 degrees) of the back of your eye, or retina. Each optomap image is as individual as a fingerprint or DNA, and it can provide our doctors with an unrivaled view of your eyes’ health quickly and comfortably.
The image captured by optomap can aid in detecting common diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol. We also use these tests to monitor changes in these diseases over time.
The optomap image is captured in less than a second and is immediately available for review. Without the discomfort associated with dilating drops, the exam is quick and painless.
